Part C Medicare Advantage Plans
Part C Medicare Advantage Plans are an alternative to Original Medicare (Parts A and B). Medicare Advantage Plans are Medicare Plans administered by private insurances and may include your Part D Prescription Drug coverage and additional benefits such as:
- Dental coverage (often with an additional premium)
- Routine Vision coverage
- Hearing coverage
Medicare Advantage Plans may require you to visit providers and facilities which participate with the private insurance company network. Some Medicare Advantage Plans will allow you visit providers and facilities out-of-network with a higher out-of-pocket cost. Typically, Medicare Advantage Plans offer a lower monthly premium compared to Medicare Supplement and a separate Part D Prescription Drug Plan; however, copayments and coinsurance costs will be assessed as most services are provided.
