Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans
Part D offers prescription drug plan coverage to Medicare beneficiaries. Part D Drug Plans are Medicare Plans administered by private insurance companies and may be obtained in two ways:
- If you have Original Medicare, you may enroll in a separate or stand-alone Part D Prescription Drug Plan.
- If you enroll in a Part D Prescription Drug Plan, the coverage may be included as an “all-in-one” Plan.
Part D Prescription Drug Plans have different premiums, different covered medications, different copayments for covered medications and possible restrictions on certain medications.
